Brent died of injuries suffered in a trucking accident while moving livestock off Mt Trumball. He is son of Rudger Clayton Atkin and Joy (VanderWeyst) Atkin. He married Nanette Smith of Beaver, Utah on Nov 25 1983 in the St. George LDS Temple. He attended Dixie High School and Dixie College and graduated from BYU with a degree in animal science. He served as a director of SKYWEST Airlines and was a director of the National Cattleman's Beef Association and was curently serving as president of the Arizona Cattle Growers Association.

Brent will be truly missed by many. He touched the lives of many people wherever he went and was a great example of living the gospel of Jesus Christ. He served as a Bishop in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

He is survived by his six children- Brandon Brent (14); T. Justin (12) Kimberli (10) Conner Blake (8) Tanner C. (6) and Whitni Joy , age 3. He is survived also by his three brothers - Jerry, Doyle and Troy.
