J. Earl Agan, 90, of 550 E. Carl Sandburg Drive, Galesburg, formerly of Alexis, died Tuesday, Jan. 2, 1996, at St. Mary Medical Center, Galesburg. Services are 2 p.m. Friday at Hoover-Hall Memorial Chapel, Alexis. Burial is in Alexis Cemetery. Visitation is after 2 p.m. today with the family present from 7 to 8:30. Memorials may be made to a favorite charity. Mr. Agan was born Feb. 9, 1905, in Paoli, Orange County, Ind., the son of Milton and Elizabeth Lang Agan. He married Ethel Mae Liggett Nov. 21, 1954, in Alexis. She died July 1, 1989. He farmed in the Alexis area. He was a member of the former Alexis United Methodist Church. Survivors include several nieces and nephews including, John Agan, Paul Davis, Janet Shauman, Judy Malcolm and Dennis Agan.
