Mrs. May (Mae) Warlick Enlow, Obituary

Mrs. Mae Warlick Enlow, 101, died on Sunday, March 12, 2006, following several months of declining health.

She was a lifelong resident of the Gordon County area and for many years lived in Sugar Valley and later on Golden Circle in Calhoun. She was born in Gordon County on April 27, 1904, daughter of the late Davis Portland Warlick and Sarah Beatrice Hollums Warlick.

She was retired from the textile industry, having worked at Dixie Belle Mills in Calhoun and J.M. Muse Corporation in Sugar Valley. "Aunt Mae", as she was known to most of her friends, was a loyal and loving person. She was a walking, talking history book who kept up with her family and others and loved to talk about their shared past.

She was a member of Center Point Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harvey Ellington Enlow, in 1944; a son, Barry Lee "Buster" Talley; and a sister, Izetta "Zet" W. Ertman.

Survivors include nieces, Julie Mae Ertman Newport Lytle of Montgomery,AL; Willa Beatrice Ertman Hitchcock of Las Vegas,NV; Violet Geraldine Ertman Tucker of East Ridge,TN; special great-nieces, Judy Speer of Harrison,TN; Tiny Tucker Autrey of Rock Hill,NC; Frances Tate of Sugar Valley; and Ivadene Muse of Resaca,GA; a daughter-in-law, Dorothy Talley of Rock Hall,MD; special friends, Nancy Kirby, Ann Shugart, and Sybil Nix; and several other relatives and friends.

Funeral will be Wednesday, March 15, 2006 at 3 p.m. from the chapel of Max Brannon & Sons Funeral Home, with the Rev. Howard Duvall officiating. Music will be arranged by Russell Hill Baptist Church Trio.

Burial will follow at Gordon Memorial Gardens, with Rev. Randy Muse in charge of graveside services.

The family received friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, March 14, 2006 from 4 to 8 p.m.

Pallbearers will be Greg Reeves, Steven Tate, Tommy Holt, James King, Wayne Muse, and Jamie King.

Honorary pallbearers will include James "Buck" Holt, Andy Tate, Eddie Bishop, Ronnie Bishop, Michael Muse, Roy Nix, and Eddie Charles.

Max Brannon & Sons Funeral Home of Calhoun is in charge of arrangements.
