Louise Grubbs Baker, of Elizabethton, went home to be with her Lord on Sunday, April 15, 2007, at her residence following a courageous battle with cancer.

A native of Sullivan County, she was a daughter of the late Claude and Jennie Stanfield Grubbs.

Mrs. Baker was a homemaker and was of the Baptist faith.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Baker was preceded in death by her husband, William "Bill" Baker, a brother, Henry Grubbs, and two sisters, Dorothy Neal and Helen Poore.

Survivors include a brother and sister-in-law, Carl and Anne Grubbs, Blountville, and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service for Mrs. Baker will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday, April 19, in the Chapel of Peace of Tetrick Funeral Home with Rev. James Hawk officiating. The family will receive friends in the funeral home chapel from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, prior to the service. A graveside service and interment will follow on Thursday at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends
