On stone with Henry W. Blasdel
===================================
Catherine Chase was born in Dearborn, Co., Indiana June 4, 1821. At an early age she was converted and joined the Baptist church, living a consistent member until the last. On December 31, 1839, she was united in marriage to Henry W. Blasdel. To this union was born eleven children, only five surviving Mrs. Z. W. Nevitt, Oxford: Mrs. B. Coin Blackwell; Mrs. J. G. Bogner, Burrton, Ks., W. H. Blasdell of Wichita; L. C Blasdell Wellington. As we reflect over the past her pleasures have been greater than her sorrow. She has been a woman with a strong constitution and as a rule enjoyed good health but gradually her strength due to old age gave way to the "Grim Reaper" and on December 9, 1919, at the ripe old age of 98 years, 6 months 5 days she closed her eyes to the "Great Beyond." At her death she leaves five children, thirty-three grandchildren, thirty-six greatgrandchildren, and one great-great-grand child.
