Funeral services for Joice Lynn Lobdell, 75, of Lindsay, Oklahoma, will be at 10:00 A.M., Thursday, September 29, at the New Hope Free Will Baptist Church with Rev. Steve Gardner officiating. Interment will follow at the Newport Cemetery under the direction of Harvey-Douglas Funeral Home & Crematory.

Joice was born November 21, 1935 in Newport, Oklahoma to the late James "Shorty" Preston and Mildred Estelle (Pruitt) Ashley. She died Monday morning, September 26, at a Norman, Oklahoma hospital.

Joice had moved to Lindsay two years ago from Midwest City, Oklahoma. She had lived most of her life in the Oklahoma City area. She had sold insurance for AmeriPlan, and enjoyed a career as a sales consultant with Mary Kay Cosmetics. She had also worked as a nurse at St. Anthony's hospital in Oklahoma City.

Joice had attended the Douglas United Methodist Church, but was recently attending the First United Methodist Church in Lindsay, Oklahoma. She loved working in her yard, but her main joy in life was being a mother and grandmother.

She is survived by her daughters, Tresa Porter and her husband Sam of Lone Grove, Oklahoma, and Lesa Britton and husband Bob of Lindsay, Oklahoma; son, Orlan Lobdell of Hobart, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Master Sergeant Sam Porter, Jr. and wife Amy of Cabot, Arkansas, Michael Porter and wife Brittany of Edmond, Oklahoma, Dusti Gann and husband Joe of Midwest City, Oklahoma, Christopher Porter and wife Amanda of Lone Grove, Oklahoma, Preston Lobdell and wife Chevas of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; 10 great grandchildren; brothers, Preston Ashley and wife Vivian of Kelleyville, Oklahoma, Gary Ashley and wife Diane of Lone Grove, Oklahoma, Roy Ashley and wife Syble of Lone Grove, Oklahoma; sister, Judy Matthews and husband Jerry of Springer, Oklahoma; numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

Joice was preceded in death by her parents, twin sister, Loice Glynn Ashley; great granddaughter, Afton Gann; brother and sister in law, James "Tip" and Deloris Ashley.
