Elgin B. Fowler, 89, 734 Eau Claire Blvd, Wausau died Wednesday January 3, 1979 in a Wausau Hospital.

Mr. Fowler was born on June 21, 1889 in Vernon County, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Burgess Fowler. He married Agnes Hintz in 1924 in Wisconsin Rapids. She survives.

Mr. Fowler attended high school in New Lisbon. He was a World War I veteran and he was employed for 49 years as an engineer with the Milwaukee Railroad. He was a member of the Brotherhood of Locomotive Fireman and Engineers and the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

Survivors include two sons: Robert of St. Petersburg, FL and William of Wenatchee, Washington.

Funeral services were held on Friday January 5, 1979 at the Brainard Funeral Home followed by a mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Wausau. The Rev. Fred Kulovits officiated and burial was in Mount Calvary Cemetery in Wisconsin Rapids.
