Miss Lulu Barnes, Schmitt Home Resident, Dies

Miss Lulu Barnes, a resident of the Schmitt Methodist Home, died Monday, Sept. 13, at the age of 78.

Born at Boaz, she had spent most of her life in Richland Center, graduating from high school here. Later she graduated from the Milwaukee Norman and taught Piano music. For a short time she lived in Louisiana.

Most of her adult life was spent as a bookkeeper for the A. H. Krouskop Co., where she gained a wide acquaintance. She retired in 1948 but after a fire which destroyed the store and the main office, she took over her former duties.

She was the last member of the William and Ada Fries barnes family and she is survived only be a sister-in-law, Mrs. Carl Barnes, nieces and nephews.

Her funeral was held Wednesday afternoon at the Lunenschloss-Hansen funeral home with the Rev. Wesley Hunter officiating. Burial was in the Richland Center Cemetery.
