Edward Markeson family in Londonderry Township, Dauphin County, Pennsylvania,
but shortly thereafter was a boatman living in nearby Bainbridge, Lancaster County.
He stood 5' 7" tall and had dark hair, blue eyes, and a mole on the back of his neck.
A Civil War veteran, he enlisted in Harrisburg February 7, 1865, and mustered into federal service there February 10 as a private with Co. C, 192nd Pennsylvania Infantry.
He suffered sunstroke during battalion drill at Summit Point, West Virginia, on
May 1, 1865, that he claimed caused virtually instantaneous heart disease and
lung hemorrhages.
Honorably discharged with his company August 24, 1865, at Harpers Ferry,
West Virginia.
Married Mary Ellen Depew February 4, 1869, they had no children.
Pension files, have both, 1839 and 1840 as his birth year.
