Glen was son of Paul Cameron Thompson, Sr. and Mary 'Mamie' Zella Trantham. He was Honorably Discharged as Staff Sergeant in the U.S. Army where he served until 1946 in the 3150th Ordance Company. He first married Marcelle Agnes Bates and they had one son they named Glen Douglas Jr (pictured). He then remarried Bonnie Helen Gross and they had one son they named Glen Douglas IV. He also has one step-daughter. named Vessie.
