Joseph Weldon "Humpy" Campbell was born, lived and died in Oklahoma. He was married to Amy Gene Whitmore and I'm proud to say they were my aunt and uncle. My grandfather was Clyde Whitmore who was Amy's brother. Amy and Humpy owned a cafe in downtown Idabel and were an institution. A favorite gathering spot and you better come early to get a seat for lunch. Their pies are still talked about today! No one could ever come close to the infectious laugh of Humpy. I do believe that people tried on purpose to make him laugh so they could smile the rest of the day...MY UNCLE HUMPY
