Mattie Pearl Barnes, formerly of Chattanooga passed away on Saturday, March 31, 2007 in Fort Myers, Florida. She was born in Riceville, Tennessee on Saturday, April 30, 1917. She would have been 90 years old this month. Pearl will always be lovingly remembered for her flair and zest for life, as well as her graciousness and kindness to all who met her.She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, John E. Barnes of Chattanooga, who was the nationally known Executive Chef for 34 years at Chattanooga Reid House Hotel. Survivors include brother, James Moore of Jacksonville, AR; step-daughter, Betty Barnes Aquadro of Canandaigua, NY; granddaughters, Beth Johnson, Canandaigua, NY, Martha Varney, Hornell, NY, Mary Caraveo of Lecompte, LA; six great-grandchildren; nieces, Glenda Hamilton Edington of Maryville, TN, Wilma Armstrong Nunley of Athens, TN, Jean Barnes Stuebing of Charleston, SC; nephews, James Armstrong of Ten Mile, TN, Dan Hamilton of Lenoir City, TN, John(Donna)Barnes, Robert(Chris)Barnes all of Fort Myers, FL.
