Sarah Ann Nester Anderson, 72, formerly of Mount Airy, N.C., and Norfolk passed away April 11, 2007, at Chesapeake General Hospital in Chesapeake surrounded by her family. Born Sept. 30, 1934, in Mount Airy, she was the daughter of Eleanor S. Nester and the late Dexter M. Nester. She was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Joe Bill Anderson; her son, Jeffrey D. Anderson; and her beloved cat, Kitty. She worked for Leggett/Belk Department Store in Norfolk from 1978 to 1996 and then transferred to the Belk Department Store in Mount Airy, retiring in 2006. She is survived by her five children, Nancy Bell of Virginia Beach, Lisa and Lee Hunt Jr., Laura Boyd, Matthew Anderson and Joel Anderson, all of Chesapeake; five grandchildren, Courtney Bell and Joe Greco of Virginia Beach, Amanda Hurst, Jonathan and Meriam Hurst, Heather Boyd and fiancee Stacie Gresham and Brittany Boyd, all of Chesapeake; and three great-grandsons who brought joy into her life and put a smile on her face, Ayden Hurst, Xavier and Zander Gresham, all of Chesapeake. She is also survived by her mother, Eleanor S. Nester; brothers and sisters-in-law, Jerry and Shirlene Nester, Edward and Sandra Nester and Wayne and Jackie Nester, all of Mount Airy; a brother-in-law, Don Moler of Myrtle Beach, S.C. Her sister, June N. Moler, preceded her in death. She is also survived by her sisters-in-law, Ethel Anderson, Essie Bishop, Ossie Caldwell, Evelyn Anderson, Georgia Anderson, Dorothy Setzer and Polly Scales; and brother-in-law, Roy Anderson. A funeral will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy conducted by the Rev. Jimmy Kirkman with burial to follow in Skyline Memory Gardens. The family visitation will be held Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home. The family wants to thank ComfortCare Home Health Services for the valuable help.
