Dr. Robert C. Finders of Frankfurt, Germany passed away at his home on April 5, 2018, after a long illness endured with great patience.

He was born in Grinnell, Iowa on June 7, 1940, to Robert L. and Lucile (Beaderstadt) Finders. He grew up on a farm south of Ferguson and graduated from Ferguson High School. Dr. Finders was a 1962 graduate of Marshalltown Community College and earned a B.A. from the University of Maryland, European Division, while serving in Army Intelligence in Germany. He received the Army Commendation Medal for his service. He held an MBA from the University of Iowa, and an Ed. D from USC. In 2002, he was listed in "Who's Who Among America's Teachers". Dr. Finders was included in the 2005 list of "Leading Educators of the World", International Center, Cambridge, England. He taught for Department of Defense schools in Frankfurt and Hanau, Germany, for 30 years, and part-time for the University of Maryland in Europe for 24 years.

Survivors include his wife and son, of Frankfurt; one sister and two Brothers, of Iowa, with their families.

Memorial services for Robert will be held on Friday, August 3, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at the Ferguson Bible Church in Ferguson, Iowa with burial to follow at Timber Creek Cemetery.
