The correct death date for Nancy Davod Almand was found in the Bible belonging to his son Peter Bennett Almand.
The Bible record states that:
"Nancy David Almand, mother of Peter B. died "March 6, 1875."

This is not the face of a "mean or nasty" woman!
This is the face of a Pioneer woman.
A women who had fifteen (15) living children.
How many more children did she loose at birth or in very early childhood?
She probably had no teeth.

This photograph is owned by Chuck Almand who lives in Lawrenceville, Georgia.
It is pasted to cardboard and someone had drawn on it; especially her eyes
and laugh lines. The deep laugh lines means she smiled a lot!
When I received this photograph from Chuck; there was a large hole in her neck. My husband Dan was able to fill this in without causing any changes to her face. Her nose is too damaged to fix.

We should be "lifting her up" not putting her down! (I have seen nasty remarks on Ancestry calling her a "Mean looking woman".
If you are descended from her.......Remember, you would not
be here if she hadn't survived her hard life.

Nancy David Almand lived alone after all of her children married. She died at the age of 90 years old - after falling and breaking her hip.

Nancy David Almand was always refered to as "that little French woman" by her brother in law. Jacob White David. He had married Nancy's sister Margaet "Peggy" Almand. This information was taken from a letter written by Dorthoy Battest to Martha Layson in 1990. I have a copy of this letter. From this we know that her family was retaining some French charateristics and language.
Nancy David and Thomas Almand had 15 children and all lived to be adults.
