Mr. Monie served honorably during World War I in the Army. After the war, he earned his living by farming and operating his own sawmill. He built his stone house with the help of his older boys in 1941.
Mr. Monie was active at Moore's Chapel Church. He served on the building committee and donated land for the creation of the cemetery at the Church.
Burial was at Moore's Chapel Cemetery in Marquand.
