Velta Blaylock Rites Wednesday

Velta Blaylock, 621 S. Creek, died Sunday night at Holdenville General Hospital. She was 71 years of age. Mrs. Blaylock was born Nov. 3, 1902 at Gum Springs community. She was employed for several years as a dietary cook at Boyce Manor Nursing Home. Survivors include two sons, Willie Blaylock, Florence, Ariz., and Doyle Blaylock of Richmond, Va.; three daughters: Loraine Clemens of Coolidge, Ariz.; Willia Mae Ballard, Houston, Tex.; Barbara Garrett, 621 S. Creek; one brother, Edgar Peters, Barstow, Calif.; four sisters: Edna Bartshe, Portersville, Calif.; Opal Yerger, Long Beach, Calif.; Bernice Swantz, Alva; Jane Hewett, Calvin; 13 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Nazarene church with Rev. Harrell Rodebush officiating. Interment will be in Calvin cemetery, under direction of Hudson Funeral Home.
