Marjorie Casey Hinton, 105, died at 11:43 a.m. Friday, March 30, 2007, at St. John's Medical Center.

Marjorie was born Nov. 25, 1901, near Seymour, Mo. She moved to Webb City at an early age where she grew up and attended school. She was a legal secretary for many years and active in church and community affairs.

She was a member of First Community Church, Women's Alliance, Women of Kiwanis, Woman's Club and Joplin Historical Society. She had served as president of Women of Kiwanis and Women's Alliance of the church and served on the church board.

She married Clifford H. Casey, Joplin attorney who died July 5, 1960. She married Victor J. Hinton on Oct. 14, 1962. He died Nov. 11, 1982.

She is survived by two sons, J. Pat Casey and his wife, Bobbie, of Aurora, Colo., and Richard C. Casey and his wife, Sue, of San Jose, Calif.; a stepson, Charles Hinton, of San Francisco, Calif.; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Mount Hope Cemetery Pavilion. Dr. David Smith will officiate. Burial will follow in Mount Hope Cemetery. The casket will be closed.

Contributions may be made to the First Community Church or the charity of the donor's choice.
