Services for Nellie Grace Evans, 83, Lawrence, will be 1 p.m. Friday at Warren-McElwain Mortuary. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.
Mrs. Evans died Tuesday, Aug. 28, 2001, at the home of relatives in Lawrence.
She was born July 9, 1918, in La Harpe, the daughter of Hubert J. and Bertha J. (Turner) Sellman. She lived in Lawrence most of her life.
She worked for several years as a dietitian at Lawrence Memorial Hospital. She also had been a waitress for Mission Inn, Lawrence, and worked at Sunflower Ordnance, DeSoto, during World War II.
Mrs. Evans was a member of VFW Alford-Clarke Post No. 852 Auxiliary ; Eagles Auxiliary, Mt. Aerie No. 309, where she was past madam president; and American Legion Dorsey-Liberty Post No. 14, all of Lawrence. She attended Lawrence Heights Christian Church.
She married James A. Evans Feb. 6, 1935. He died in 1972. A companion, David Huey, died July 20, 1997.
Survivors include a son, Keith Evans, Wasola, Mo.; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren
