Noel M. Klein, 80, passed away Sunday, January 21, 2018.

Noel was born on October 17, 1937 in Hutchinson, KS, where he lived until graduation from junior college. He obtained a B.A. in Fine Arts from Emporia State University. He worked as a commercial photographer at several Kansas City area studios before becoming a medical photographer at the University of Kansas Medical Center for 20 years before retiring in 1994. Since 1970, Noel and his brother volunteered as photographers for Johnson County Fire, Police, and Medical agencies providing pictures for hundreds of incidents. They established the department’s first photo lab, creating documents, historical records, and photo journals never before available. Noel enjoyed camping and traveling, and loved attending his grandchildren’s musical and sports events. All activities were well documented with his camera.

Noel was preceded in death by his parents, Godfrey and Lydia Klein.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Deanna, son, Jared and his wife Kristi, grandchildren, Lauren and Scott, and his brother, Lane.

Services will be held Saturday, January 27, at Valley View United Methodist Church, 8412 West 95th Street in Overland Park. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. followed by a funeral service at 11 a.m. Burial will be at Johnson County Memorial Gardens.
