Born Feb. 21, 1900, in Eureka Springs, Ark., to Walter and Anna Betten Herod, she married Reimer W. Bruington in 1921 in Eureka Springs. He died in 1957.
She also was preceded in death by one son, Reimer in 1979, and one twin brother.
Surviving are four daughters, Louise Terbune of Arlington Heights, Virginia Woodrow, and Susan Unger, both of Galesburg, and Margaret Fraser of San Clemente, Calif.; 18 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; and two great-greatgrandchildren.
She was a farm manager on her family farm in the Alexis area for 50 years, retiring in 1994.
She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Galesburg, American Legion Auxiliary, World War II Mothers in Alexis, and a lifelong member of the Women of the Moose.
Cremation will be accorded. Private family memorial services will be held at a later date. There will be no visitation. Burial of ashes will be in Alexis Cemetery in Alexis. HinchliffPearson-West Galesburg Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
Memorials may be made to Moose Heart or the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
