Lenord A. Hocking Jr., 91, of Somers, beloved husband of the late Phyllis Hocking (2016), entered into eternal peace Thursday, December 21, 2017, at St. Francis Hospital. He was a resident of the Somers community since 1966 and was a longtime member of the Somers Fire Dept. He was a member of The American Legion, Buck-Dubiel Post No. 101, in Somers. Lenord served his country honorably both in WW II and Korea in the U.S. Army. He is survived by five children, Jean Collins, William Hocking and his wife Karen, Patricia Hocking, Sandra Keery and her husband Malcolm, and Deborah Edwards and her husband Robert all of Somers. He was predeceased by a daughter, Susan Hocking. He also leaves many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 9, 2018 at the Somers Congregational Church, 599 Main St, Somers, CT.
