Spirit was my beautiful white German Shepherd. She was a gift from my husband while I served in the invasion of Iraq. I remember my beautiful Spirit being held in the arms of husband in the hanger of the air force base like it was yesterday. She was so tiny and adorable!
She endured 4 babies with me and 14 long years! She was the very best watchdog. I still believe to this day she knew when I was pregnant because she never left my side and she was extremely protective while her daddy was away on deployment. I truly believe in God and God was with her when she died. On the day that she was having problems walking and I knew it was time I walked her outside the vet one last time. She fell 3 times just as our Lord did while carrying the cross.she was surrounded by my husband, my mom, and my brother Justin. I cradled her head in my arms and cried as she fell asleep.
She is buried in our backyard with a beautiful white flowering Bush and her paw print headstone. I love you Spirit!
