NORFOLK - Nancy Kornegay Smith, 83, passed away peacefully on Thurs., March 22, 2007 with her family by her side. Born in Norfolk, she was the daughter of the late Julia Simmons Kornegay and Perry R. Kornegay, Jr. She was a member of St. Andrew's Episcopal Church. Left to cherish her memory is her beloved husband of 55 years, Dudley C. Smith, Jr.; a daughter, Sallie S. Abraham and her husband, David of Norfolk; a son, Dudley "Chip" C. Smith III and his wife, Donna of Charlotte, N.C.; a brother, Perry R. Kornegay, Jr. of Battlefield, Washington; and two grandchildren, Dudley " Ford" C. Smith IV and William "Will" R. Smith of Charlotte, N.C.. A graveside funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Mon., March 26, 2007 in Forest Lawn Cemetery by Rev. Fr. Charles A. Joy. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to The Children's Hospital of the Kings Daughters. Cox Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
