OGDEN - Elva Noyes Bliss, 89, died Friday, November 24, 2000 in Ogden of causes incident to age. She was born November 3, 1911 in Torrey, Utah, a daughter of Fred W. and Monettie Behunin Noyes.

On August 8, 1932, Elva married Joseph G. Bliss in Redding, California. Joseph preceded her in death in 1972. She was a member of the LDS Church where she served as a teacher and pianist in the Primary for 30 years in Torrey, Monroe, and Ogden, Utah.

She had been a cook for the Weber County School Lunch Program for 30 years. Elva enjoyed being a volunteer for R.S.V.P. and playing the piano at retirement centers for 20 years in the Ogden area. She also enjoyed gardening, art, sewing and music.

She is survived by her two daughters, Deanna Gleave, and JoAnn (Mark) Cates, both of Ogden; seven grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, and one sister, Dora Cook, of Ogden.

She was preceded in death by her husband, two sons, Chan F. Bliss and Fred Bliss, two brothers and two sisters.

Funeral services will be held at the graveside on Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Lindquist's Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch, 1718 Combe Road. Funeral directors, Lindquist's Ogden Mortuary.
