Richard C. Burgess Dies
Funeral Is To Be Held Sunday for Iola Man.
Richard C. Burgess, age 55, died yesterday after a three weeks illness at St. John's hospital. Funeral services will be held at the Waugh funeral home at 4 p.m. Sunday, the Rev. A. V. Howland officiating. Burial will made in the Iola Cemetery.
Mr. Burgess was born in Indiana, came to Coffeyville, Kas., in 1908 and to Iola in 1913 where he has lived since at 420 So. Colborn. He is survived by his widow and the following sons and daughters; Violet, Della, Wanda Jean, or Iola; Bonnie, of Kansas City, Mo.; Mrs. Fern McKenzie of Kansas City, Mo., Mrs. Gladys Stark of Ottawa; Mrs. Sadie Holt of Sioux Falls, S.D.; Mrs. Audry Crandall of Connersville, Ind.; Lafe and Carl Burgess of Ioa. A brother, Fred Burgess, lives in Coffeyville.
