On 10 Mar 1920, she married Albert Peterman in Wiota Cass Co, IA.
Notes from one of her granddaughters:
Amelia came from a family of 14 and was born and lived in a sod house in Ainsworth, Nebraska. As a little girl (5 years old), she came with her parents in a covered wagon, crossing the Missouri River on a ferry. They settled on a farm in Cass County, IA. Amelia was a dress maker and great cook of German decent. Lutheran religion. Amelia's grandchildren thought she was pretty special. She was so NICE, and boy could she bake! She had the softest, most comfortable lap to sit in. I don't think there was ever a more loving grandmother than mine. Becky Fairhurst, Waterloo, IA
