HARVARD - Merilynn J. Conerty, 87, of Harvard, died Sunday, Nov. 26, 2006, at Mercy Harvard Care Center. She was born April 6, 1919, in Harvard, to Leslie and Sylvia (Esmond) Douglas. She married Francis S. Conerty on June 21, 1941, in Harvard. She worked for Stahl Insurance in Harvard for many years and also for Shearon Petroleum in Harvard. She was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Harvard and was a member of St. Joseph's Mother's Club, the Altar and Rosary Society, the Harvard Hospital Auxiliary and the Harvard Business and Professional Women's Club. She also had been a hospital Pink Lady and secretary of the Dunham-Chemung Cemetery Association. She enjoyed knitting, playing cards, and especially her family. Survivors include four children; eight grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; a sister; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, on April 22, 1976; a son, Stephen; her brother, William Douglas; and a sister, Carol Douglas Meyer. The visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 30, with a 7:30 p.m. wake service, at Saunders & McFarlin Funeral Home, 107 W. Sumner St., Harvard. The funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 1, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 206 E. Front St., Harvard. Interment will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery in Harvard.
