Cadet William S. Barstow

Funeral for Aviation Cadet William Spencer Barstow, 24, former resident of Albany and grandson of the late Mrs.A. J. Center, prominent piner citizen of the county, was held at 6 p.m. Monday from the Matthews memorial presbyterian church of Albany. Rev. John Winslow of Lubbock, rector of St. Paul's On the Plains and friend of the family, officiated.

Burial was in the family lot at the Albany Cemetery, where Chaplain Robert G. geiger of the Abilene Army Air Base, in a brief service paid tribute to the young aviator who had made the supreme sacrifice for God and country.

The flag was folded and presented to the young aviator's mother. mrs. Jonnie Lemonde Barstow, by Captain Glenn Reynolds a life-long friend of the family and schoolmate of Cadet Barstow in grade school and at A&M college. "Taps" was sounded by two members of the guard of honor composed of ten aviation cadets and a lieutenant from Stamford Arledge Field.
