FELTON Irvin J. Baker, 79, entered into rest peacefully on Wednesday, March 7, 2007, at Rest Haven - York. He was the husband of Joyce Lee (Russell) Baker whom he married August 15, 1946. The couple celebrated over 60 years together. Born in Baltimore, Md., on August 24, 1927, he was the son of the late Irvin M. Baker and Molly M. (Brown) Gorsuch, and the stepson of Stewart T. Gorsuch. Mr. Baker's love and talent working with automobiles allowed him to be co-owner of B&G Body and Fender Shop in Baltimore, Md., along with his brother, Raymond. He was a former body shop manager for City Chevrolet in Baltimore, and retired from Kemper Insurance. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of WWII and was stationed in the Pacific Theatre as a Fireman First Class. Mr. Baker enjoyed trailer camping and boating with family and friends. He also enjoyed tinkering with tools and going to play bingo with his wife, Joyce. He was a volunteer fireman with Earligh Heights Fire Company. In addition to his wife, Mr. Baker is survived by three daughter, Brenda L. Naff and husband, Bill of Felton, Pamela M. Schuk and husband, Mike of Baltimore, Md., and Yourtha M. Delp and husband, Jim of Felton; two sons, Charles I. Baker of Georgia and Keith R. Baker and wife, Judy of Brogue; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and one brother, Raymond Gorsuch of Baltimore, Md. He was preceded in death by one son, Steven W. Baker; one brother, Spencer Gorsuch; and one sister, Callie Dettamore. A visitation will be held Monday, March 12, 2007, from 10:30 to 11 a.m. at Burg Funeral Home, Inc., 134 W. Broadway, Red Lion. A memorial service will follow at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Robert S. Edmundson, Pastor of New Harmony Presbyterian Church, officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Gamber, Md., at the convenience of the family.
