Martha and her husband resided in Converse for many years where her husband had been a minister. She was a long time resident of the Lafayette area. She was a member of the Clarks Hill Christian Church and also a member of the Eastern Star. She retired from Frankfort Community Hospital as a ward clerk.
Survivors include a daughter, Marcia (Bill) Ritteman, Indianapolis; son Leonard (Nancy) Bertelson, Hiawassee, Ga. Five grandchildren, Cheryl Kemp, Hamilton, Ohio, Cindy Gates, Lafayette, Steven Dick, Dayton, Eric Bertelson, Covington, Ga., Michael Bertelson, Cordele, Ga.; fourteen great-grandchildren.
