COOK SHIRLEY JANET 68 passed away on Sunday, July 22, 2001 at Stanford Hospital in Stanford, California. She was born on July 3, 1933 in Minnesota. She was a resident of Hayward, California for 32 years. She worked for TOPS and volunteered as a Tutor at the Hayward Library. She Ushered at the Woodminster Theater and at Chabot College Theater. She was a member of Alanon and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Hayward, California. She retired from Sears and ABHOW as a Payroll Supervisor after 30 years. She is survived by her four loving sons, Jerry (Jay) Berg, Steven Berg both of Hayward, Leon D. Berg of San Leandro and Jeffery Berg of Vallejo, California. She also leaves behind her four dear sisters, Lois Berg of Fairfield, California, Marge Carlson of Aitkin, Minnesota, Jean Lehman of Hutchinson, Minnesota and Helen Wilkerson of Rockwall, Texas. She also leaves behind two beloved brothers, Walt Griffith of Sanford, Florida and Don Griffith of Clayton, Oklahoma. She also leaves behind two beautiful granddaughters, Lara Tomei of Marion, Iowa and Jessica Berg of Berkeley, California. Family and friends are invited to attend a Graveside Service today, Friday, July 27, 2001 at 3:00 p.m. at Chapel of the Chimes Memorial Park; 32992 Mission Boulevard, Hayward, CA 94544. A Memorial Service will also be held tonight, Friday, July 27, 2001 at 6:00 p.m. at Church of Jesus Christ Latter Day Saints; 26101 Gadding Road, Hayward, CA 94544. The family has requested donations in her memory be sent to the American Cancer Society; Central Alameda County & Tri-Cities Units - 1900 Mowry Avenue, Suite 405, Fremont, CA 94538.
