Harold A. Smithson, 73, Taneyville, died March 10, 1978 at Skaggs Community Hospital, Branson, following a heart attack.
Mr. Smithson, a well-known farmer and stockman of this area, was born March 11, 1904 at Riverview, Mo., the son of John F. and Belva Laughlin Smithson. He was a lifelong resident of Taney County, serving many years as director of various school boards and other Community Programs.
Funeral services were held March 13, in Taneyville Union Chapel with the Rev. Bob Grady officiating. He was buried in the Dickens Cemetery.
Survivors are his wife, Alma; three daughters, Mrs. Mary Ellen Coulter, Smithville, Mo., Mrs. Teresa McIntosh, Taneyville, Mrs. Belva Brewer, Oldfield; five sons, Clell of Taneyville, Hank of Augusta, Ga., Tommy of St. Charles, and Glenn of Billings; 20 grandchildren, a step-sister, Oma Johnson, Forsyth, a step-brother, Cloney Johnson, Moses Lake, Wash., and a host of relatives and friends. Services were under the direction of Clarkson Mortuary, Forsyth.
