Corporal Henry Cousins was the son of William Henry and Martha (Robinson)Cousins of Dinwiddie County, VA. He married on Feb 21, 1855 Jane Inglis Boisseau (1835 - 1888), daughter of Peter and Sarah (Boisseau) Boisseau also of Dinwiddie County, VA.


Corporal Henry Cousins and his wife Jane Inglis Boisseau had 11 known children. Those not listed below are as follows:

*William, born Nov 5, 1855,died young, twin to Henry Everett below.

*Peter Boisseau, born @1858, died of consumption at about 21 years of age at Universtiy of Virginia Hospital, unmarried.

*James (Johnny), born @1861, died 1872 due to accidental gun shot wound; several newspaper articles were found in Petersburg, Virginia, indicating that students at public school No. 4, Dinwiddie Courthouse rendered a tribute of respect for their fallen classmate.

*Mariamne "Mae", born May 11, 1869, died Sep 1950, married on Sep 23, 1891 Howard Keen Butterworth, born Apr 1859, died Nov 19, 1925, of Dinwiddie County, VA. Howard and Mariamne (Cousins) Butterworth had known children: Hugh Howard, born 1892; Karl, born 1894, died 1967; Lynwood, born 1896, died 1970 in Atlanta, GA.; Mariamne, born 1901; Ivan, born 1904, died 1984 in Petersburg, VA.
