Jewel passed away at the home of her daughter and with her loving family by her side. She was a homemaker and had proudly served her community as a volunteer for over 14 years with the Southwest Hospital in Valley Station. She was also a member of the Beth Haven Baptist Church and a 50 year member of the Valley Chapter # 65 O.E.S. During her life she had lovingly been a Godmother to many children. She was the daughter of the late Samuel and Ethel Russell. Mrs. Rhea was preceded in death by her brothers and sisters, Albert, Cuba, Opal, June, Estel and Minnie. She is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, Harold G Rhea
; two daughters, Theresa Douglas (Hermann) and Debra Barclay (Patrick); a son, Michael Rhea (Pamela); grandchildren, Carla, Bethany, Janet, Karen, Walter, Russell, Angela, Rebecca and Sheena; great-grandchildren, Michael, Bryana, Brittany, MacKenzie, T.J., Madison, Marissa, Hunter, Kaydence, Chloe and Seth; and many other loving family members and friends. The family would like to express their appreciation to the wonderful care and support provided by the nurses and chaplains of Hospice and Palliative Care of Louisville.
