She later relocated to California and signed on with the Robert Powers School of Professional Modeling and made a name for herself in the industry by the late 1940s. This led to her career as a Las Vegas showgirl. During her marriage to Sinatra, she became heavily-involved with charitable causes and in 1986, she established the Barbara Sinatra Children's Center which benefited abused children. In 2012, she published her autobiography "Lady Blue Eyes: My Life with Frank Sinatra."
