Jacob Abbiehl, one of the well known residents of this community, died at his home at the east edge of Bremen at 10:30 oclock Tuesday morning after a lingering illness. Mr. Abbiehl was a son of Christian and Anna (Meder) Abbiehl and was born in Berne, Switzerland, September 20, 1870. He came with parents to America in 1871. On December 31, 1895, he was united in marriage with Emma Fore, who survives. He leaves also one daughter, Mrs. Walter Edel; one grandson, Richard Edel; three brothers, Edward Abbiehl of Nappanee, Fred Abbiehl of Ladysmith, Wis., and John Abbiehl of Elkhart; one sister, Mrs. Emma Pittman of Elkhart.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 oclock Friday afternoon at the Huff Funeral Home. Rev. M. O. Herman, pastor of Salem Evangelical church, will officiate in the service and burial will be in the Bremen cemetery. The body will be at the Abbiehl home until the time of the funeral service.
