Age 87. He was the widower of Louise R Angell and was preceded in death by his son Dr Franklin Linwood Angell. Mr. Angell was an active, lifelong member of First Baptist Church, a local businessman, civic leader, public speaker and entertainer. His civic activities included: charter president of the Roanoke Valley Kiwanis Club (est 1953, Lt. Governor of the Kiwanis Club of Virginia in 1957; and appointed to the Program and Music Committee for the Kiwanis Clubs of the U.S. and Canada. He had also been president of the Groundhog Club of America No 1 and the Roanoke Booster Club. He was appointed Investigator of Immigration Fraud Cases in 1931. Later, he worked at Shenandoah Life Insurace Company before starting the Angell Mortgage and Realty Company. Mr. Angell was a prior member of the Roanoke County Board of Supervisors for the Cave Spring and later Windsor Hills districts. He was an assessor for Roanoke County and Vinton.
