She married David M. "Dave" Allen on Sept. 9, 1933, in Midland.
She worked as a homemaker, and had lived in Fort Stockton for a year and a half after moving from Alpine.
Irene was a lifetime member of the American Legion Auxiliary, D.A.V. Auxiliary and V.F.W. Auxiliary. She was a Baptist.
Graveside services were held Feb. 19 at the Marathon Cemetery with Father David Allen officiating.
She is survived by her son, David M. Allen and wife Grace of Albuquerque; daughter, Patricia A. Gulihur and husband Norman of Fort Stockton; two grandchildren, Mary Helen Sanchez of Fort Stockton and Davvyonnae Krehl of Pensacola, Fla.; six great-grandchildren, Brandy A. Cunningham of Fort Stockton, Cristi Gulihur of Odessa, Clayton L. Williams of Fort Stockton, Amanda K. Williams of Fort Stockton, Dustin A. Gulihur of Pecos and K'dee Gulihur of Pecos; and two great-great-grandchildren, Alexis Irene Cunningham and Rodolfo J. Cunningham.
She was preceded in death by eight brothers and sisters; a grandson, Norman A. Gulihur; and her husband.
Arrangements were entrusted to Fort Stockton Funeral Home.
