Our 7th Cat

Sam was a beautiful Egyptian Mau. I only had him a little over two years and was my best buddy. The most friendly, caring, loyal cat anyone can imagine. Egyptian Maus can leap over 6 feet in one jump & run 30 MPH. They act more like a dog than a cat. Greeting people at doors & their sound is a short high pitched 'Chirp' instead of a meow. When they are happy, their tails go straight up in the air & shakes. He was close to 20 lbs. I inherited Sam & his buddy Randy after my next door neighbor Sandy died on March 31, 2015. Sam came to our steps as a stray in 2008 & Sandy took him in.

We thought Sam was about one or two years old back in 2008. According to the vet, Sam's age was older like between 11 or 12 years old when he died. Not 8 or 9 as we thought his age was at death. Mostly likely born in 2005 or 2006. He died Friday night at 9:09. Sam was cremated at the Abbey Glen Pet Memorial Park Crematory as a group cremation and not a private one and did not keep his ashes.

Sam was brought permanently into our home on February 8, 2015 after his owner Sandy became very ill and died seven weeks later.

Rest in Eternal Peace big guy!

Cause of death ~ heart failure

Sam had a lot of traits of Sheba and it's like losing her all over again. My heart is completely broken.

No indication anything was wrong with him that day. He suffered a slight seizure, then a stroke followed right into a full fledged heart attack in just over 2 hours. We're completely in shock over this.

Sam was originally owned by my next door neighbor, Sandy Koestel, until her death on March 31, 2015. I adopted the cat after her death.

Heartfelt 'Thank You' to Diana McDevitt Eyler for sponsoring Sam's memorial.
