Services were held at Lintner Funeral Home in Chandlerville, IL on Friday, October 21, 1955 at 2:00 P.M., Rev. Henry spencer officiated.

A handwritten note written by his wife:

"John H. McCauley, son of William and Belle McCaulley.

He was born in Walland, Tenn Sept 8th, 1880. He died Oct 19, 1955 at his home in Kilbourne. He had been in ailing health for some time.

He was educated in Tenn, moved to Ill when he was a young man. He served in the Spanish American War.

He was married to Addie Friend (Sarah Adeline) Dec 3rd, 1918 in Havana, Ill. To this union six children were born; Alsace "Lorraine" Blanch, John Sewell, Ethel "Juanita" Oest of Peoria, Ill, James "Edward" (deceased - he gave his life for his country in the Second World War), Marjorie "Darlene" Lancaster of Ohio and Richard William "Billie" at home. He was a member of Mount Olive Church. John was a good neighbor and friend and will be sadly missed in his community. He leaves to mourn his passing his wife, two sons, three daughters and twelve grandchildren."
