Funeral services for Gladys Hampton Chambless, born June 20, 1914, died February 21, 2007 at the age of 92, will be 10 AM Friday, February 23, 2007 at Cox Funeral Home Chapel in Oak Grove, LA with Rev. Milton Pray officiating. Burial will be in the Oak Grove City Cemetery, Oak Grove, LA under direction of Cox Funeral Home of Oak Grove.
Visitation will be Thursday from 1:00PM - 9:00PM.
She was the last surviving sibling of the Lilly/Hampton clan.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, George H. "Bud" Chambless, four infant grandchildren and her parents, William Hampton and Estelle Boyte Hampton.
Survivors include a daughter, Shielda Janes and her husband John R. Janes, her best son-in-law, according to her, of Oak Grove; grandson, John A. "Tony" Janes of Bastrop, LA; great grandchildren, Andrew Logan Janes and Aidan Brett Janes of Bastrop, and Hanna Elizabeth Harrell of Epps, LA; and a host of nieces and nephews that she loved dearly.
Visitation will be Thursday from 1:00PM - 9:00PM.
