Jeffrey W. Koonce was born on May 23, 1947. His home of record is Union, NJ. He had four brothers, Kurt, Sidney, Richard and Darryl, and a sister, Lorraine. Jeffrey graduated from Union High School in 1965. He was a member of the wrestling team and boxed at a local Police Athletic League
Koonce served in the US Army and attained the rank of Sergeant (SGT). He was assigned to the 173rd Airborne.
Koonce was killed in action on November 19, 1967.
