ORANGE GROVE – Leonor R. Vasquez, 91, passed away January 31, 2013 in Corpus Christi. She was born April 19, 1921 in Orange Grove to Felipe and Maria Rios. She was a homemaker, an original member of Guadalupana's, a member of the Altar Society and the V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary. Vasquez was preceded in death by her husband, Alberto Vasquez; three sons, Alberto Vasquez Jr., Raul Vasquez and Jesus Vasquez.
Survivors include one daughter, Minnie (Julian) Esparza of Orange Grove; two sons, Fermin (Lupe) Vasquez of Orange Grove and Thomas (Mage) Vasquez of Corpus Christi; three sisters, Christina Gutierrez of Orange Grove, Olivia Rivera of Brownfield and Esperanza Gonzalez of Breau Bridge, LA; 13 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and 11 great great grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 1 to 8 p.m., Sunday, February 3, 2013 with a Rosary to be recited at 7 p.m. at the Holmgreen Mortuary Chapel. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10 a.m., Monday, February 4, 2013 at St. John of the Cross Catholic Church in Orange Grove. Interment will follow in Casa Blanca Cemetery.
