It is said he spent his entire life in Berkeley County, WV. He remained upon the old farm of his father, Col Morgan Morgan. He was an Episcopal minister of great piety and worth. His deeds are recorded by Bishop Meade. He served in the Revolutionary War as a private under Capt. William Haymond. He was very active in the Bunker Hill Church affairs and asked to be buried under the porch of the old church, fifty miles from Hedgesville, West Virginia according to the Gossett genealogy listed below.

Morgan was the only one of the Col. Morgan's children to remain in Berkeley County. He sold most of his 1,000 acres until 1765 only 182 acres remained in his possession. He and his wife had been living with their son, Morgan III, for some time and on 2 Apr 1765, he deeded the last portion of his plantation to Morgan 3rd for 100 pounds English money.

Spouse: Mary (Gosset) (1743-1817), daughter of Petter & Catherine (DuFour) Gosset. Married on Nov. 17, 1761, Berkeley Co, WV. They produced nine children.
