Anabell was a volunteer nurse at the Burke County Hospital. She was known and loved by everyone in Waynesboro. In her later years she moved herself into a nursing home where she brought sunshine and happiness to all the patients. She was a descendant of Cherokee Indians and lived in a small community on the outskirts of Waynesboro called St. Clair. She had 5 children (all boys) and attended Brushy Creek Church in St. Clair where she played the church piano. She died of old age at 96.
