GUY WARREN COWAN

Guy Warren Cowan, a resident of this
area for 44 years, died Sept. 19 in Camas.
He was 66 years of age.

He was born Nov. 8, 1887 in Cherokee
county, Iowa. In 1903 he was married to
Frances Smith in South Dakota and in 1910
the family moved to Washougal.

After moving to Camas, Mr. Cowan was
employed at the Camas paper mill until his
retirement in 1947, completing almost 25
years of service.

He is survived by his wife Frances
Cowan, Camas; two sons, Glen G. And
Clinton Cowan, both of Camas; four
daughters, Mrs. Eva Skrentny of Camas,
Mrs. Ethel Sherrell of Kennewick, Mrs.
Edith Pillar and Mrs. Millicent Kirkpatrick,
both of Camas; an aunt, Mrs. Louisa Cowan
of Corvallis; cousins, James Mathis of
Camas, Miles Cowan of Everett, Ami
Schlund of Tacoma, Mrs. Pearl Michener of
Portland, Mrs. Peggy Bunker of Corvallis;
and John Welfring of Vancouver; and 21
grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at the
Stoller Memorial Chapel Friday, Sept. 24, at
2 p.m., with the Rev. Joh Phipps officiating.
Vault entombment will be in the Washougal
cemetery.
