Mary C. Thomson, 90, of Shickshinny passed away on Wednesday, May 3, 2017, at Bonham Nursing Home, Stillwater, where she had been a guest for the past four years.
Born in Flushing, N.Y., on Dec. 25, 1926, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Ellen (Delaney) Treacy. She was a graduate of Bayside High School in New York. After moving to Pennsylvania, she worked for many years at Bartikowsky Jewelers in Wilkes-Barre.
Mary was a member of Holy Spirit Parish/St. Mary’s Church, Mocanaqua.
She enjoyed sewing and crocheting, always making something for someone, from curtains to wedding gowns. Her greatest love was her family. She was a loving mother to her children and caregiver to her cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She will be greatly missed by her children: Anne Fisher and husband, John, Wilkes-Barre, Mary Ellen Thomson, Berwick, Rachel Burger and husband, Gary, Schnecksville, David Thomson, Hazleton, Sarah Stout and husband, Michael, Shickshinny; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Adrian L. Thomson, in 1996; son, Patrick Thomson, in 1995; brothers: James Treacy and Thomas Treacy; and sister, Kathleen Maynard.
A visitation will be held on Monday, May 8, 2017, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Heller Funeral Home LLC, 633 E. Third St., Nescopeck. Burial will take place on Tuesday in Mount of St. Mary Cemetery, Flushing, N.Y.
