Marion C. Drung, 65, Fall Creek, died Wednesday at Luther Hospital in Eau Claire.

Marion was born in Eau Claire on Dec. 18, 1941, the daughter of Clifford and Myrtle (Curler) Bates. She graduated form Fall Creek High School in 1959. She married Wally Drung on Nov. 4, 1967, in Eau Claire. Marion worked for eight years as a baker for Elsie's Cafe in Fall Creek. She did a lot of volunteer work for the Fall Creek Public Library. Marion cared for the plants in hanging baskets for the Village of Fall Creek. She was known as the plant lady of Peace United Church of Christ. Marion enjoyed her garden, taking care of her home and baking. She also enjoyed having coffee in the morning at the Cafe. Marion collected crystal figurines. She loved her family of brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews and her husband Wally.

Survivors include her husband, Wally; her sisters, Rosemary (Robert) Strasburg, Tammy (Duane) Buntz and Nora Bates, all of Eau Claire; Nancy (Richard) Anderson, Little Canada, Minn., Melody (Marty) James, San Antonio, Texas, and Pamela (Randy) Luedtke, Fall Creek; her brothers, Ralph (Pam) Bates, Chisago City, Minn., Clifford (Janet) Bates, Patrick (Debbie) Bates, all of Fall Creek; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, parents and a brother, Timothy Bates.

Funeral Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Peace United Church of Christ, Fall Creek, with Pastor John Wreford officiating. Private interment. Family and friends may call Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m. at Stokes, Prock & Mundt Funeral Chapel, 535 S. Hillcrest Parkway (Highway 12 East), Altoona, and Monday an hour before services at the church.
