Jonas Hunt was born in Alexandria Twp., Hunterdon Co. NJ to Joshua HUNT & Sarah PARKS who removed in 1795 to Greene Co. PA where they died.

Jonas married Jane/Janet SEATON d/o James and farmed in Greene Co. PA and about a mile North of MorgantownWV till Jonas died. Jane removed with relatives to Clayton Co. Iowa and is buried in Bethel Cemetery in Clayton Co. IA.

Hunt-Eckhart Cemetery in the 1930's was about a mile North of Morgantown and no longer in use with only three scattered tomstones - Jonas HUNT'S faded stone was mis-read as James HUNT.
